Why we struggle with Weight Loss
The struggle with weight loss can be attributed to a combination of physiological, psychological, social, and environmental factors.
Metabolism varies from person to person and can be influenced by factors such as age, gender, genetics, and body composition. Some individuals naturally have a slower metabolism, making it more difficult for them to lose weight compared to others.
2. Mental health:
Emotional eating, stress, boredom, and other psychological factors can lead to overeating or unhealthy food choices, making it harder to maintain a calorie deficit necessary for weight loss. Additionally, unrealistic expectations and a lack of motivation or self-discipline can hinder progress.

The availability and accessibility of high-calorie, processed foods, coupled with aggressive food marketing and larger portion sizes, can make it difficult to stick to a healthy eating plan. It’s unthinkable how many foods are available here in the US.
4. Sedentary Lifestyle:
Modern lifestyles often involve long periods of sitting and minimal physical activity, which can contribute to weight gain and make it harder to lose weight. Regular exercise and increasing daily physical activity levels can help offset this.
Genetics play a role in determining body weight and fat distribution. Some individuals may have genetic predispositions that make it easier or harder to lose weight. Hormonal imbalances and medical conditions can also affect metabolism and contribute to weight gain.
6. Yo-Yo Dieting:
Crash diets and extreme weight loss methods often lead to short-term success followed by weight regain, creating a cycle of yo-yo dieting. We see them a lot on instagram and social media, pushing fads that are unrealistic and harmful. This can negatively impact metabolism, body composition, and psychological well-being over time.
